Hey there, friends!

I’m thrilled to dive into a topic that many of you have asked about since I mentioned “grandmillennial style” in a previous post. You wanted to know what it is, and today, I’m sharing my personal journey with this delightful blend of old and new.

How It All Started

My love for antiques blossomed in my late 20s - early 30s. I became fascinated by the charm and character of vintage pieces and their value after being restored. Back then, I spent countless hours scouring Craigslist and Facebook yard sale pages (remember those pre-Marketplace days?) and even rescuing furniture left on the curb.

I’d bring these forgotten treasures home, restore them, and sell them. Back then, I didn’t keep any of the pieces I worked on—small kids and fragile furniture weren’t the best match. But I adored the process of breathing new life into these items and finding them new homes.

Fast Forward to Now

Life looks a bit different these days. With Jovan passing and Naziel moved out, I can now design a home I’ve always envisioned. And for me, that means fully embracing grandmillennial style.

What Is Grandmillennial Style?

Grandmillennial style blends the nostalgia of traditional decor with fresh, modern touches. Think vintage furniture alongside a sleek, modern sofa or ornate frames paired with contemporary art. It’s about creating a warm, inviting space that tells a story while still feeling current and personal.

This duality mirrors my own life—rooted in tradition yet open to new ideas and possibilities. Whether in my beliefs, fashion, or even political views, I find joy in merging the old with the new.

My Vision

While my current home doesn’t quite reflect this style yet, I’m excited to transform my new space into a haven of modern-meets-vintage charm. I’ve created a Pinterest board filled with inspiration:

  • A gallery wall featuring family photos in ornate frames alongside bold, contemporary art

  • A mix of antique and modern furniture to layer the space with personality and history

It’s all about creating a sense of comfort and nostalgia—a space that feels like home.

Finding Your Style

Grandmillennial decor doesn’t mean you have to dive headfirst into floral wallpaper and antique overload. It’s about striking the right balance for your personality. Showcase a cherished heirloom, mix in minimalist touches, or layer vintage elements into a more modern design. The key is making it uniquely yours.

A Celebration of Stories

Grandmillennial style isn’t just a trend—it’s a way to honor our stories and memories while looking toward the future. I can’t wait to share more as I bring this vision to life in my new home.

Stay tuned for updates, and please share your own tips or ideas about grandmillennial decor in the comments—I’d love to hear from you!

Happy decorating!
